Mangaluru: In a tragic incident, food reviewer Nikhil Pai of ‘The 3 Hungry Men’ fame committed suicide on Sunday, April 14. He was 28 years old. The 3 Hungry Men is the first food review body of Mangaluru.
It is said that he consumed pesticide (rat poison) and ended his life. The reason behind him taking this extreme step is not yet clear.
As per sources close to the family, Pai had an altercation with his mother on Saturday, after which he left his house. His body was recovered from his rented flat in Derebail on Sunday.
Nikhil was also a cartoonist and is remembered as a jovial person by his friends.
The body was shifted to A J Hospital and later, handed over to his family. He was cremated on Sunday night at 10.15 PM in Boloor.
Kavoor police have registered a case.
