Mangaluru: Physicians and other health workers, who are working under the National Health Mission (NHM) at Wenlock hospital, Lady Goschen Hospital Community Health Centre and Primary Health Center in the Dakshina Kannada district, provided free service while wearing black ribbons as a sign of protest. They are urging the government to fulfil their demands on Wednesday, April 1.

Though the health workers working under NHM had asked for leave on April 1, they came to work and assisted the COVID-19 contact tracing team on Wednesday. They tied black ribbons as a sign of their agitation and continued their services without expecting a salary.

Their unfulfilled demands are regulation of work, equal pay for equal work, setting up of comprehensive HR policies along the lines of the Haryana government, suspension of outsourcing system etc.
