Mangaluru: Lashing out at Chief Minister’s allegations that IT officials had enticed State energy minister to switch over to BJP, party state president BS Yeddyurappa claimed it to be part of the political strategy of the Congress.
Speaking at the state BJP core committee meeting being held at Ocean Pearl Hotel in the city on November 9, Yeddyurappa said that the opposition was fearful of the BJP Parivarthan Rally and was intentionally spreading such false rumors to create confusion in minds of the people.
Regarding the Tipu Jayanthi celebrations to be observed tomorrow, BSY said that the party is opposed to the government program to commemorate Tipu’s anniversary. “Celebrating Tipu Jayanthi is akin to celebrating Hitler Jayanthi ,” he added.
Union Minister and former CM DV Sadananda Gowda too refuted the rumors surrounding the offer to DKShi and said that while the party welcomes all those who believe in the party ideology it will never stoop to the level of threatening individuals by using the CBI, income tax, and enforcement directorate for political reason as the Congress has alleged.
It may be recalled that CM Siddaramaiah, while speaking at a programme on Nov 8 had said that IT officials had asked DK Shivkumar to join BJP during the raids at his premises.
