Mangaluru: Sudhindra Hebbar, who was working in Australia resigned his job to cast his vote on April 18 so that he could see his favourite leader Narendra Modi as Prime Minister for the second term.

Hebbar was present at the Nehru Maidan, when Narendra Modi addressed the election rally in Mangaluru on Saturday, April 13.

Speaking to Newskarnataka Hebbar said “ In yesterday’s election rally a lady with a three months old baby was sitting next to me. It is not easy to come to such a rally with an infant. She came there because Modi was an inspiration to her. No one gave her biriyani or money, neither was it given to anybody else who gathered there to cheer for Modi. They gathered there out of sheer love towards their leader.”

Hebbar was working at the Sydney Airport. He had to quit his job as he could not extend his leave till April 18 due to heavy passenger traffic in the holiday season.

He added that he had not told his employer that he needs leave to go back to India and vote. He feels if he had revealed the reason they might have obliged. Sudhindra, an MBA graduate was confident of getting a new job when he returns back to Australia after the election results.

Taking a dig at people who had said they would leave the country if Modi becomes the PM, Sudhindra says that he will return to Australia or Dubai if Modi doesn’t win.

He said that he feels proud when his colleagues from all over the world tell that India is going to have a great future. He gives the credit of this changing image of India to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sudhindra feels that by exercising his voting right he was fulfilling his duty as he cannot protect the border of the country like the soldiers.
