Mangaluru: Mulki Mudubidire MLA Umanath Kotyan said, the Nandini river festival, would promote the culture and sports of the coast and promote tourism.
He was speaking after releasing the logo of the “Nandini River Festival” scheduled to be held on March 20 and 21 at Nandini river near Sasihithlu. . The launch of the logo was organized at The Rani Abbakka vessel at Bokkapatna. The River Festival is being organized by Sasihithlu Anjaneya Gymnasium.
Dr. K V Rajendra, Deputy Commissioner, the Chief Guest of the Function said, “We have to organize programs with the covid precaution. At this juncture when the situation is returning to normalcy with all covid precautions we should work on attracting tourists to our coastal belt. River festival should be conducted every year and next year onwards district administration has the plans of organizing the river festival.
Speaking at the function, DK District Milk Producers Union, KMF President, Raviraj Hegde said that Nandini would extend full cooperation to the festival which is being conducted in the name of Nandini in the Nandini river.
Deputy Director of District Youth Empowerment and Sports Department, Pradeep D’Souza said, due to Covid any major festivals were not been organized. Our dept will extend full co-operation to the river festival.
Muhammad Arif, Managing Director of Mukka Sea Food, Asha Nayak, Senior Advocate, Jayadevappa Marketing Head of KMF, Yatish Baikampadi CEO of Panambur Beach Development Corporation were present.
Vinod Kumar, president of Anjaneya Gudi and Gymnasium Sasihithlu, welcomed the gathering and moderated the program. Anil Kumar proposed the vote of thanks.
