Bantwal: After the incident of miscreants pelting stones at Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik’s car during the Bharath Bundh, former MLA Ramanath Rai has demanded a probe to bring guilty to books.

Stating that a lot of false propaganda has been going on after the incident to hold him and Congress workers responsible for the episode, Rai said that the police must investigate and expose the real culprits.

Recalling the bundh day, Rai said that the Congress had not forced anybody to close the commercial establishments or shopkeepers and the BJP members unnecessarily intervened to create a commotion.

“Bundh was our last option to tell the centre that our patience levels were tested enough. The cost of petrol is being hiked often leaving commoners in trouble, ” he said adding that even the BJP had staged protests in the past against hike in LPG cost under UPA government.
