Mangaluru: A museum, showcasing the culture and tradition of Tulunadu will soon come up on the premises of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL).
The museum would depict the rich Tuluva culture including Tulu daivas, Yakshagana, Pad’dana. The museum will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 83.53 lakh. Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy has prepared a report and submitted it to the MRPL, after Mangaluru MP Nalin Kumar Kateel had given a green signal for the project.
The outgoing president of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy A C Bhandary informed that officials of the MRPL have agreed to set up the museum and handover the project for verification. The museum proposal was sent to MP Nalin Kumar Kateel four months ago, but the process to prepare an action plan got delayed due to the Lok Sabha election. Bhandary is hopeful that this will be a reality soon.
