Mangaluru: In order to create awareness among the public on the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), MP and BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel, on Tuesday, January 7, launched a postcard campaign by signing it at Suratkal.

After launching the campaign, Nalin said, “When our country was divided on basis of religion and the Islamic country Pakistan was formed, Mahatma Gandhi dreamt of providing citizenship to the latter’s minorities. Former prime minister Manmohan Singh also mentioned the same during the a Parliament session. However, when the Narendra Modi-led BJP government is now trying to realise the dreams of those great leaders, the Sonia Gandhi-led Congress party is opposing the move, thereby insulting Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi and Manmohan Singh.”

Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai also signed the card on his way Udupi.

Mangaluru North MLA Dr Y Bharath Shetty, former MLC Monappa Bhandary and other BJP leaders were present.
