MP Nalin and MLA Vedavyas Kamath distribute ‘Modi Kits’ to poor, migrant workers

Mangaluru: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and Mangaluru South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath disbursed ‘Modi Kits’ to those residing in the Mangaluru South Assembly constituency on Saturday, April 4.

Each ‘Modi Kit’ comprises essential items worth Rs 500 like rice, oil, dal, soap, paste among others. After distributing the kits, MLA Vedavyas Kamath said that initially, 100 Modi Kits will be disbursed in every ward. ”The number will be increased based on the number of beneficiaries. The BJP is committed to helping the poor people,” he said.

Meanwhile, they disbursed grocery and food items to migrant labourers engaged as daily wagers and construction labourers.

The BJP has formed various teams to help the poor who were left without a source of income after the COVID-19 lockdown was enforced. Every team comprises various BJP leaders including corporators. The intention of the teams is to extend a helping hand to the daily wagers and those who are financially weak.

Mayor Divakar Pandeshwar, standing committee president Poornima, Corporator Sudheer Shetty Kannur BJP leader Ravishankar Mijar and others were present.
