Mangalore: An incident wherein some persons barged into a call centre at Kulur arguing that women should not  be allowed to work in night shifts was  reported on September 20, Friday night.

Sources said the Orbis Business Management Call Centre at Kulur was targeted. Reports said the assailants tried to enter the cabin where women were working but were prevented by one of the staff named Ashwin who was attacked.

Meanwhile, the Call Centre’s Senior Customer Service Officer  Bharath Kumar lodged a complaint with Kavoor police naming four of the accused as Deepak, Shiva, Harish and Rajesh. They were arrested and released on bail.

The DYFI has strongly condemned the incident and alleged that the moral policemen were fearless mainly owing to the failure of the authorities to initiate stern action against the perpetrators of such acts.
