Mangaluru: The inauguration of the girl’s toilet block at Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayath Model Urdu School, Bunder, Mangaluru which is sponsored by Mangalore Round Table – 115 and Mangalore Ladies Circle – 82 was done by Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath on Thursday, May 30.
The project was undertaken at a cost of Rs 2,00,000/- and was initiated by Mangalore Round Table – 115 Chairman Haron Fernandes and Mangalore Ladies Circle – 82 Chairperson Anitha D’Souza with the support of CREDAI Mangalore and TNG+.
CREDAI Mangalore president Naveen Cardoza, National LC President Namratha Shenoy, Round Table Area 13 Chairman Siddharth Shastry, Area Vice Chairman Vinod Pinto were present.
Mangalore Round Table and Mangalore Ladies Circle who serve the community in various areas have undertaken a number of key projects helping the society.
Their recent key projects involve:
* Toilet block worth Rs 3 Lakhs built at Panjimoguru Govt School
* Books worth Rs 45000/- distributed to deserving children at St. Joseph’s Higher Primary School
* Smart Class equipment and computer worth Rs 58000/- donated to Ammemar Govt School, Farangipete
* Flood relief materials which included sanitary napkins worth Rs 5000/-
* Reflector jackets for the police department worth Rs 2,50,000/-
* Building and furnishing classrooms at Farangipete, Bikarnakatte and Panjimogaru School
* Donation of books, water purifiers, laptops to various other educational institutions
* Tare Zameen Par: A drawing competition and fun fete for 300 differently abled children
* Feed the needy: Rs 55,000/- annually for over 2400 poor brethren are fed a hearty meal every month
* Groceries and financial aid to Samvedana, Sneha Sadana, Riya Foundation, Roman and Catherine School for Visually Impaired
* And Vishwasada Mane among others
