Mangaluru: Congress candidate Mithun Rai was busy in poll campaign and aimed to meet a maximum number of voters, covering maximum areas on Sunday, April 14.
Accompanied by Ivan D’Souza, J R Lobo and other local leaders he visited old port area, Bolar, Marigudi, Jeppu Market among other areas and sought the support of the public. He visited Bolara Marigudi and Hanuman temple and offered pooja.
After canvassing at Bolara, he went to Kankanady Alphonsa Forane Church and offered prayer. Later, his poll campaign was held at Sootarpete and other surrounding areas.
A small programme was held at Prajwal Yuvaka Mandala in Sootarpete to mark Dr. B R Ambedkar’s birthday celebration, where Mithun Rai offered a floral tribute to the portrait of Ambedkar.
In the afternoon, election campaigning was held Boloor, Sultan Battery, Kudroli, Urwa, Chilimbi and Kadri. During the campaign, the leaders who accompanied him engaged in dialogue with public to gauge their mood and sought their votes for the party.
Throughout the poll campaign, Mithun Rai and his supporters were seen urging the voters for an opportunity to serve the people. Mithun Rai assured of addressing the problems of the people and bringing development works for the district.
