Mangaluru: A video clipping in which the activists of fringe group have given a death threat to Dakshina Kannada District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai has gone viral on social media. Meanwhile, Mithun Rai dared to announce that he would be available always at the District Congress office, if the miscreants wanted to kill him.
It is said that the video clipping was allegedly taken during the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Lok Sabha poll victory celebration at Badakabail in Bantwal taluk on May 23, wherein the activists are seen threatening that if Mithun Rai continued to involve in any issue concerning Bajrang Dal, they would cut off his hands, legs and also his head if necessary.
In the video clipping, the youth who is seen holding a saffron flag screaming in foul language against Mithun Rai and others who accompanied him, repeats his words. After the video went viral, the district police registered a case under CrPC Section 108.
Responding to the death threat by the fringe group activists, Mithun Rai told the media that he was always at his office and not afraid for such threats. “I am ready to sacrifice my life if communal violence can end in our district. My fight against the communal forces will continue.”
