Mangaluru: Milagres College, Hampankatta, Mangaluru has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a “B++” grade.
A NAAC peer team visited the college on December 9 and 10 and announced the grade on January 9.
For a college that has been in existence for nine years and has four undergraduate programmes, it is an incredible milestone to have achieved a “B++” grade in the first cycle.
This feat was made possible by the benevolence of the management, foresightedness of the administration and efficiency and dedication of the principal and staff, along with the avid students.
This grade has emboldened the college to move forward towards greater heights in terms of tangible achievements for the welfare of the students. This accreditation is a certification affirming the quality of education imparted at Milagres College and enables them to receive grants from the Central and State Governments and other public and private organizations for the development of quality education.
The college has thanked Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, president of CBE and the Bishop of Mangalore Diocese, Most Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, the Mangaluru Bishop Emeritus, Rev. Fr Antony Shera, secretary of the Catholic Board of Education, Rev. Fr Joseph Lobo, correspondent of the Milagres Educational Institutions, Rev. Fr Valerian D’Souza, former correspondent, members of the Governing Council and Internal Quality Assurance Cell.
It has also appreciated the services of Rev Fr Michael Santhumayor, principal, Prof Lourdusamy, NAAC Advisor, Nayana, NAAC Coordinator, Lavita Pereira IQAC Coordinator and all the staff, and congratulated them on their achievement.
