Mangaluru: Karnataka State Election Commissioner Dr B Basavaraju has directed all candidates contesting for the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) polls to furnish details of their daily election expenditure, failing which they will be disqualified.
After examining the preparations for the MCC elections on Monday, November 4, he said that candidates should give details about their election expenditure from the day of filing nomination.
“Even if they win the polls, their membership would be cancelled if they had not submitted their details of election expenditure,” he said.
Meanwhile, he asked district administration to take all appropriate measures to ensure no untoward incidents occur during the election. Proper security arrangements should be made at the sensitive and hyper-sensitive polling booths, he stressed
Commissioner of Police Dr P S Harsha, Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh, DCPs Arunamshu Giri, Lakshmi Prasad, MCC Commissioner Shanady Ajith Kumar Hegde and others were present.
