Massage proves dear for retired govt employee, loses Rs 3 lacs

Mangaluru: The CCB police arrested six persons, including three girls on Thursday March 22 for alleged blackmail and extortion of Rs three lakhs from a retired government employee by threatening to circulate few intimate pictures of him with the women on social media.

Preetesh (36) resident of Jail Road, Ramesh (35), a Shaktinagara resident and Ravi (35), a Chikkamagaluru native, and the three women have been arrested by the police in this connection.

The victim, a Maryhill resident, aged 71 was lured into the trap by the gang, who promised to offer him massage services by women. Not suspecting anything fishy, the man had visited the residence of the woman, who was introduced to him by the gang to get a massage. No sooner had he reached there, three persons barged into the residence, forced him to strip and later took pictures, video clipping of the man with the woman with the intent of blackmailing him.

Though the man gave in to their blackmail and transferred Rs three lakhs amount to the accused’s bank account initially, it was the demand for further money from the gang that made him approach the police for help.

The arrest operation was carried out by CCB inspector, Shantaram, police sub-inspectors, Shyamsundar, Kabbalraj and others.
