Mangaluru: Maravoor bridge that connects to the Mangalore International airport developed a crack due to heavy rain. Keeping in mind the safety of the people vehicular movement has been cancelled on the bridge.
Traffic is diverted to two alternative routes. The commuters used either the Kavoor-Kulur-KBS Jokatte-Porkody-Bajpe route or the Pacchanady-Vamanjoor-Gurpur-Kaikamba-Bajpe route.
MLA UT Khader and former minister Abhayachandra Jain urged DC Rajendra to open an alternate route of (MSEZ) Kuluru-Kulavaru-Bajape for the public to divert traffic.
DC ordered the concerned officials to take necessary actions in order to restore the bridge immediately.
