Mangaluru: Former CM and senior Congress leader Veerappa Moily on Sunday said that the final report of manifesto ahead of next assembly elections will be submitted to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah by January 2018.

Moily, who held a press meet on November 3 said that being a chairman of the manifesto committee, he would meet party members and prepare a report of manifesto. “The report will be prepared taking views from the members of the party and other organisations in the state and will be submitted to the CM by January 2018, ” he said.

Moily mocked Karnataka BJP for its failed road show ‘Parivarthan Yatra’. He lauded the present Congress government in Karnataka and stated that CM Siddaramaiah has set a record with several pro-people schemes benefitting the needy. He also accused the present central government of stopping several schemes launched by the then UPA government.

During the press meet, Moily lashed out at the Modi-led central government for its failure in foreign diplomacy. Lambasting PM Modi for his frequent foriegn trips, Moily said, “Modi has failed to combat terror activities by Pakistan. Relations with China also have not improved. He is yet to resolve Visa issue for Indian in America. Not only foreign police, Modi government has not delivered what they promised.” He also compared Gujarat and Karnataka in terms of development and claimed that the gross-production of Karnataka is 10,27,06,783 lac when compared to Gujarat’s 9,94,31,599 lac.

Minister Ramanath Rai, MLC K C Kondayya, chief whip Ivan D’Souza and other party leaders were present during the occasion.
