Mangaluru: Mangaluru lass Josita Anola Rodrigues has won the Promotion Brand Ambassador title at the Miss Tourism World, 2019 in Qingdao, China, on Sunday night.
Mexican contestant Michelle Hewitt was the winner of the event and Canada and China were the first and second runners-up respectively.
Co-hosted by the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and the organizing committee of the Miss Tourism World Global Finals, the 12-day extravaganza saw contestants from 67 countries and regions, such as Russia, the United States, France and India, vying for the winner’s title. Photo exhibitions, fashion shows and an opening ceremony were all part of the event.
Josita, who first appeared in the Konkani movie “Zanvoy No 1”, stepped on to the pageant ramp at the age of 16, winning the “Miss South Asia Teen 2017” and then “Miss Glory of Galaxy 2018”. She represented South Asia in the 10th World Super Model pageant in Macau.
Taking her inspiration from actress Sonal Monteiro, who groomed her, she was guided by Charan, Anupam Suvarna and Shubakiran Mani.

Born Josita Anola Rodrigues on March 2, 2000, she is the daughter of Wilfred and Anitha Miranda of Kodialbail. She is currently pursuing her II PU at St Aloysius PU College Mangaluru, after having completed her high school at St Aloysius High School, Mangaluru. Dancing, cooking, singing, acting, modelling and other fun things are her hobbies. She received grand accolades for her role in the Tulu serial “Deverna Daye”. Belgian Actor Fredrick De Vos is also reported to have invited her to act in his upcoming Hollywood movie.
