This winter season, the city's very own innovative entrepreneur Mukund Kamath, has once again won 8 awards including three all India awards during Season 6 of 'The Great Indian Ice Cream and Frozen Dessert Contest' for his innovative products.

Addressing a press meet at a hotel in the city on November 18, Ideal Ice Cream proprietor Mukund Kamath said, "It is indeed a proud moment for entire Ideal Ice Cream team to win 8 awards at the national level. I dedicate these awards to all the Mangaloreans and I feel Mangaluru is truly becoming the Ice Cream capital of India. This is not a one man show but the hard work of an entire team and family, friends who have supported and encouraged us to achieve this feat. I thank our distributors, patrons, marketing team, technical team and production team for their huge support. Our entire team is passionate about each product. Our customers’ valuable feedback helps us to be more responsible and come up with better products every year. "

Speaking about the contest, Kamath said, "there were 6 Best in India awards and we have won three. Our innovative product 'Marzi Paan' was a main attraction at the contest and our Vanilla standard Ice Cream has won Gold back to back for three years. The contest was held in a fair manner and the panelists made sure that there is no biased judgement."

Kamath's mother Jaya P Kamath, wife Divya Kamath, Ideal Ice Cream General Manager M N Bhat and his family members and friends were present on the occasion.

Ideal Ice Cream has been continuously winning awards from the year 2008 at this contest. This year they have won three 'Best in India' awards, four Gold awards and one Silver award. One of the show stealers of the contest was Marzi Paan, a first of its kind icecream. It won Best in Class for Innovation award.
