Mangaluru: Tulu movie “Girgit”, which was released last month to rave reviews, is now facing a legal battle as the court has imposed a stay order on the screening of the movie.

The District Court here on Thursday, September 12, had imposed a stay order based on a petition filed by the Mangalore Bar Association, stating that the movie had insulted lawyers and advocates.

The stay order on the screening of the film was given by Judge Harish.

“Girgit” is a Tulu movie of the comedy-drama genre, directed by Roopesh Shetty, who also plays the lead, and Rakesh Kadri. Manjunath Attavar has produced the film.
