Konaje/Bengaluru: In a meeting held to choose a candidate for the Mangalore University vice chancellor’s post, a heated argument broke out between the members of VC SEarch Committee on Friday, November 23, according to sources.

This meeting was chaired by the Committee President Dr. Sidde Gowda in the presence of Tumakuru University members Dr. Rame Gowda, Prahlad and D B Nayak. It was held at the Utility Building in Bengaluru.

According to sources, the argument continued for quite a while and the people involved were representatives of the government and a member on behalf of the Governor.

It is said that the governor’s representative insisted on finalising the name suggested by him but due to the stiff resistance from others, the meeting turned volatile.
