Mangaluru: Members of the syndicate of Mangalore University met and briefed Deputy Chief Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan about the improvements and the progress in the functioning of the varsity.
The corrupt functioning of the past senate was brought to his notice in the presence of Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath and they discussed the strategy to rectify the previous mistakes. The MLA appreciated the work of the members and requested the government to support them.
The inception of the Free Examination Software will find progress as it is substituting the software that was purchased from an external source for crores of rupees. This project would not only bring improvement but will also save a lot of money for the University and the students’ data will remain confidential.
Dr Ashwath Narayan appreciated the syndicate members for going the extra mile and was of the opinion that all Universities in Karnataka should adopt this method of designing their own software. He also stated that the University should take the lead and set an example in simplifying the usage of resources and bring in drastic changes required to suit the present demand. He then assured the Government’s helping hand wherever there is scope.
