Mangalore : In view of the upcoming Assembly elections, the Congress has opened an election office at Kadri on April 11, Thursday. Religious heads of three communities graced the occasion.
Several party leaders including JR Lobo, Congress candidate from Mangalore South, Naveen D’Souza, Corporator, PV Mohan, MA Masood were present at the function.
Fr Elias D’Souza, Director of Infant Jesus Shrine, Bikarnakatte, Sadaqatulla Faizi of Jumma Masjid, Bunder, Satyakrishna Bhat, Chief Trustee of Radhakrishna Temple, graced the occasion.
The Congress candidate Lobo has also kickstarted his door-to-door election campaigning.
Dissidence ends : Interestingly, the dissidence that had sparked in the District Congress no sooner the party announced the candidature of JR Lobo, seems to have now subsided with those who had been part of the protest, deciding to back Lobo.
There are reports that all those who had protested had tendered an apology to the party leadership.
