Mangaluru: Mandd Sobhann, the Mangalore based world’s premier Konkani Cultural Organisation active in the promotion of Konkani Art and Culture, is all geared up to host the 5th edition of its popular TV Reality Show – Soad. This year, Mandd Sobhan has joined hands with the Mangalore Catholic Cooperative Bank (MCC Bank) to host the show. The MCC Bank Ltd – Soad 5 ‘Mangoa’ starts February 6, 2020.
This was announced at a press conference in the city today by the organizers. Present at the Press Conference were Eric Ozario (Gurkar), Louis Pinto (President), Stany Alvares (Vice President), Naveen Lobo (Co-ordinator), and Victor Mathais (P.R.O.)
Mandd Sobhan has been successfully organizing numerous programs in the 34 years of its fruitful existence. One of the most successful and popular of these has been Soad – A TV reality show that is a singing contest for youth between the ages of 15 and 40. There have been four editions of the show since 2005 when the first one was hosted.
The MCC Bank Ltd – Soad – 5 Mangoa is being organized to encourage and foster young budding singers; provide them a big stage to showcase their talents; take Konkani singing to greater heights; build bridges between Mangalore and Goa.
The organizers said that though it is a Konkani Singing Contest, anyone of any Language, Religion, and Region can participate. There are no participation fees for the same, the organizers asserted. The contest will be telecast on DaijiTV 24×7 and GCTV, Goa.
The Dates & Centres of Audition are as follows
- Mangalore – Feb. 16, 2020 at 9 a.m. at Kalaangann
- Udupi – Feb. 23, 2020 at 9 a.m. at Hotel Durga International, Near City Bus Stand
- Goa – Mar. 1, 2020 at 9 a.m. at Art & Culture Hall, Panjim
