Mangaluru: A 30-year-old man was arrested at the Mangaluru International Airport on Thursday, May 24 night for making use of another person’s passport to travel abroad.
Santhosh, a native of Kasaragod had arrived at the airport to board a flight to Dubai. However, the passport in his possession had been issued in the name of Tamban. Immigration officials upon noticing the mismatch took Santhosh into custody and later handed him over to Bajpe police.
During the course of investigation it was gathered that Santhosh who was working in Dubai had used the same passport, procured from Abdulla and Hanif, Kasargod-based travel agents to return to his native some eight months back.
The police have said that they would will also arrest Tamban, and interrogate him since it is illegal to provide one’s passport for use to another.
Santhosh was produced before a court which remanded him to 15 days judicial custody.
