Man rapes migrant worker promising marriage, case registered

Mangaluru: A case has been registered against a 53-year-old man who allegedly raped a 20-year-old construction worker at Moodushedde.

The accused has been identified as Jagadeesh, a resident of Moodushedde. Sources in Kavoor police station informed that accused Jagadeesh is a contractor and has two children. The victim, who is from North Karnataka has been working with the accused Jagadeesh. He promised of marrying the victim and forcibly had a physical relationship with her. It is also alleged that Jagadish threatened of dire consequences if she disclosed the matter to anybody.

Based on the complaint of the victim, Kavoor police registered a case against the accused under IPC Section 376 (punishment for rape) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) and investigating.
