Mangaluru: In a twist of fate, a septuagenarian died just a day after his 50th wedding anniversary.
Joseph Alvares (79) was all excited to celebrate his 50th wedding anniversary and was overly joyed to know that his children had organised a grand function on Sunday, September 16.
The thanksgiving mass was held at St Lawrence Church in Bondel followed by an elaborate event. Being a healthy person, Joseph took part in all the activities organised during the event and had also expressed his joy by dancing with his family and friends. After the celebration, he was engaged in routine work at home, but all of a sudden he felt a sharp pain in his chest and told his children about it.
His children rushed him to a private hospital, but he was declared dead in the hospital on Monday, September 17.
Joseph is survived by his wife Irene Alvares, his two sons and a daughter.
