Mangaluru: A man arrested on charges of sexually molesting a minor girl inflicted injuries to self within the prison by banging his head against the iron bars of the cell.
Shamsher Khan (50), a resident of Puttur was arrested, on Tuesday night under the POSCO Act by the Dakshina Kannada district police. He was produced before the court here on Wewdnesday after receiving treatment for his injuries.
According to police report Khan had been sexually assualting a minor minor since last one year. He would make untoward advances at the girl, and if objected to he would physically harm the minor. Also he made her watch porn forcefully and also threatened to rape her and make the video of the act public. Shamsher is even said to have threaned her with murder, said the police.
He has been booked under various sections of Pocso and IPC Section 376 (punishment for rape).
