Mangaluru: Man amongst all men-Nitte Vinaya Hegde’, a life history of Vinay Hegde, penned by Nitte University Pro Vice-Chancellor of Dr. M Shantharam Shetty was released at the auditorium of Hotel Gateway on Sunday, April 14.
Releasing the book, Ramakrishna Mutt president Swami Jithakamanandaji said that N Vinay Hegde is a God-given gift to Dakshina Kannada district as his life story itself is an inspiration to the youth who want to achieve something in their life.
Jithakamanandaji said, “ Vinay Hegde is a kind-hearted human being, who excelled in life as an entrepreneur and also as an educationist. As he ventured into health sector, he has done a tremendous job as well. Many people who are born with silver spoon in their mouth become lazy. But, Vinay Hegde’s sheer hard work, sincerity and strong determination have made his life beautiful and he has transformed the silver spoon into the golden spoon.”
“Youth should read this book as it contains how a strong determination of a person helps him to attain greater heights in his life. The life story of Vinay Hegde is a source of energy for those who want to lead a successful life, Jithakamanandaji added.
Fr Denzil Lobo, Director of St Aloysius Institution of Management and Information Technology (AIMIT) said, “luck is when preparation meets opportunities. Successful person always grabs all opportunity and attain success. Hegde is one such persons, who grabbed all opportunities and used it as a stepping stone to his success”, he said.
Dr Shantharm Shetty, the author of the book while delivering his introductory address said, “ though my teachers, parents and friends played an important role in my life, Vinay Hegde’s humane approach, compassion and dynamism have caused great impact upon me. Hence, I thought he was indeed a man amongst all men and posterity should know his personality to be taken as a role model. His tenacity of purpose, perseverance and the will to do good to the people and society is remarkable”, he said.
Vinay Hegde while addressing the gathering informed that his success story is the result of teamwork. “Without the support of anybody, you cannot do anything in your life. Besides that, I have got strong support from my family members. Happiness comes from home only. As I have received tremendous support from my family, I could succeed in my life”, he said.
Meanwhile, Hegde recalled the cooperation of former chief minister Late Ramakrishna Heggade for his works. “Heggade had supported me when I stepped into education arena and health sector. His support made me venture into different sectors and get success”, he said.
Birthday celebration of both Vinay Hegde and Dr Shantharam Shetty too was held on the same occasion.
Ajith Kumar proposed vote of thanks and Rejna compeered the programme. Central University of Karnataka Prof N R Shetty, Nitte Deemed to be University Administrator Vishal Hegde, Dr. Dineshchandra Hegde among others were present.
