Mangaluru: A 7-year-old boy lost his life as his head got stuck between the doors of a malfunctioning lift on Thursday, August 23.
The deceased has been identified as Muhammed Sinan, a resident of Addur in Bantwal. The incident happened at 7 pm on Thursday at an old apartment complex at Vas Lane in the city.
Sources said that Sinan’s mother, along with her three children, was leaving the house for an evening stroll. As she was locking the front door on the first floor of the building, Sinan reportedly entered the lift. The lift suddenly closed and his head was stuck between the doors.
Hearing the cries of the boy, residents in the building managed to open the elevator door. However, it was too late.
A case is registered at Kadri Police station in this regard.
