Mangaluru: The Karnataka Dalita Sangharsha Samiti (DSS) has decided to support the Congress and other secular parties in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, claiming that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Union Government has failed to fulfil the demands of the people.
State chief convener of the DSS Mavalli Shankar told reporters at the Patrika Bhavan on Saturday, March 23, that the farmers’ suicide has increased after the BJP came to power in the Centre and their promise of employment creation has proven to be false. “Due to demonisation by the government, many businessmen have incurred losses,” he said.
“The leaders of the BJP have openly stated that they came to power just for the sake of changing the Constitution. Such anti-Constitution slogans would not help to construct a peaceful society. Hence, in order to save the Constitution and the democratic form of government, the DSS will support the Congress and other secular parties in the Lok Sabha election,” Mavalli added.
DSS leaders Chandu L, B K Vasanth, Jagadish Pandeshwar and others were present.
