Long-pending demand for new Kulshekara-Saripalla road to become reality

Mangaluru: MLA JR Lobo kick started the construction of long awaited Kulshekara-Saripalla, Malethotta new road at the cost of Rs 85 Lakhs here on Sunday.

Addressing the gathering, MLA JR Lobo here on February 4, said, ” during my previous election campaign when I came here, the people had brought to my notice about the poor condition of the road, the problem which they have been experiencing for over 40 years. The people also demanded for construction of a new road and I had promised to fulfill their demand.”

“Due to efforts put in the last four years, after consulting officers from Phalghat, Chennai Zone, and Delhi, the railway department has given the permission for the construction of a new road here. As per the demand by the Department of Indian Railways, the Mangaluru City Corporation has given Rs 1.32 crore to the Railway department for the construction of road. And has also sanctioned Rs 85 Lakhs for the same”, the MLA added.

State government sanctioned Rs 10.5 Lakhs to link this road to Kannur National Highway via Umicon, Kannagudde, Nooji Karpimar Kodikal.

MLA also expressed the need to build an under bridge at Kodical, and promised to get it sanctioned by the government.

Mangaluru City Corporation Mayor Kavitha Sanil, MCC Chief Whip Shashidar Hegde, Standing committee president Abdul Rauf, Sabitha Misquith, Nagaveni and others were present.
