Mangaluru: The Mangalore University All College Students Union(MUACSU) 2021 was inaugurated at St Sebastian Hall on March 13.
Athith Rai from SDM College, Ujire has been elected as the President for the MUACSU 2021. 50 other students from various colleges were elected for the MUACSU this year.
“The MUACSU was founded in 1979 and is the only student union to be recognised by the Mangalore University. Roughly 80 colleges from across the Dakshina Karnataka and Udupi district are part of this student union” said Mithun Rai, District Youth Congress President.
The inaugural ceremony started at 12:30 pm and was compered by Suhan Alva. The chief guests of the event were former minister, B Ramanath Rai, District Youth Congress President, Mithun Rai, and Kannada and Tulu film producer, Harish Sherigar. Guests of honour were Ex-MLA JR Lobo, MLC Harish Kumar, Corporators Praveen Chandra Alva, AC Vinayraj, Anil Kumar, and NSUI district president, Sawad Sullia were present at the event.
“The moto of MUACSU is to engage in student upliftment and empower students in their fields of interest. We also provide scholarships to students. Overall, the purpose of MUACSU is to develop leadership qualities in students.” added Mithun Rai.
