Mangaluru: The Department of Nursing Education along with IInd year PBBSc Nursing students of Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing had conducted Continuing Nursing Education on “Nursing Credentials: A Gateway for Brighter Future”, at A.J Auditorium, 3rd floor, A.J Institute of Medical Sciences, Kuntikana, Mangaluru on July 11.
The inaugural programme began with an invocation and lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. The organizing secretary Ashwini Kanchan, unveiled the theme of CNE. The chief guest, Jasmine Sarita Vas, Principal, Father Muller School of Nursing, Kankanady, Mangaluru, in her address emphasized on CNE as it builds the career and leads the way to the future of nurses.
The Director of Laxmi Memorial Education Trust, Ashritha P. Shetty presided over the programme. The sessions for the day were “ Impulse- A Key to Success” by Jasmine Sarita Vas; “ Runway for Nurse Specialist” by Dr. Elsa Sanatombi Devi, Prof. and HOD, Department of Medical Surgical Nursing, Manipal College of Nursing, Manipal; “Paths to Become A Global Nurse” by Simi Josi, Administrator, Medicity International Academy, Kannur and “Horizon for Nurses in National Scenario” by Anand. S, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Health Nursing, Yenepoya Nursing College , Mangaluru. The programme winded up with the distribution of certificates.
Dr. Larissa Martha Sams, Principal, Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing, Dr. Jenifer D’souza, Organizing chairperson and HOD of Community Health Nursing, Shobha Xavier, KNC observer, were present for the CNE.
