Kasargod: One labourer died and three others escaped miraculously with minor injuries, when the mud caved in at a construction site in Kudreppady near Kumble Sitangoli this afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Venkataraj (60).
The loose mud caved in, when labourers were trying to clear the area for construction of a private residence near Kudreppady temple.
Venkataraj, buried underneath was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Kasargod but he failed to survive.
Gopal, Sitaram and Nagappa survived the danger with minor injuries.
The dead body lying at Kasargod general hospital will be handed over to the relatives after post-mortem.
