Mangaluru: The Kukke Sri Subrahmanya temple will be closed to devotees from December 17 to 20. Only those who have registered for the Rathotsava Seves in advance will be allowed to enter.

The decision was taken in view of the spread of the COVID-19 disease, according to a report by TOI.

Owing to this decision, many devotees will not be able to participate in the Champa Shashti rituals at the temple.

Speaking on the matter, Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner K V Rajendra said devotees and tourists won’t be permitted to enter the temple and the ratha beedi premises from December 17 to 20 and those found to be violating the ban will be booked under the provisions of the Karnataka Epidemic Diseases Ordinance (2020).

Only those devotees who have registered in advance for the Rathotsava Seves will be allowed to participate in various rituals like Chouthi, Panchami, and Shashti Rathotsava.
