Mangaluru: Owners of houses in the Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) Layout, Kudupu met the residents of Panchanday and Mandarabail whose agricultural land and houses were damaged by the incessant rains and landslide at Pachanady dumping yard recently. Meanwhile, they disbursed relief materials worth Rs 1 lakh to the victims on Sunday, August 25.
It may be recalled that as many as 27 families of Pachanady and Mandarabail are suffering as the heaps of wastes from the dumping yard have started sliding into the localities. These families have been given shelter at Karnataka Housing Board Colony in Kulashekara.
When the owners of KHB layout met the victims with relief materials, Rajesh Bhat, a resident of Mandara informed how the victims are leading a painful life after the disaster occurred. Meanwhile, former mayor Bhaskar K assured of taking all necessary measures so as to receive the help of both Mangaluru City Corporation and district administration towards the victims.
KHB owners association president Janardhan Babu, secretary M Ravi, members Melvin D’Souza, Rajesh Vegas, Prasad Suvarna, Vinutha, Anu Rakesh, Jagadish among others were present.
