Mangaluru: Another fresh date of March 7 has been fixed now to inaugurate the newly carved Moodbidri and Kadaba taluks in Dakshina Kannada district.

It can be noted that the government had to postpone the inaugural date of these two taluks for more than five times. Dakshina Kannada district in-charge Minister U T Khader announced the fresh date of March 7 for the inaugural of both Kadaba and Moodbirdri taluks. Speaking to the reporters at Circuit House on Saturday, March 2, Khader said, as per the scheduled programme, Revenue Minister R V Deshpande will inaugurate the taluks in the presence of other elected representatives.

Khader also expressed his pleasure over the cabinet decision of forming two more taluks Ullal and Mulki. “Though the decision has been taken now, all required procedures would take 6 to 7 months to complete. After such procedures, both Ullal and Mulki taluks would be officially inaugurated. A tentative list of villages, which would come under the new taluks have been prepared now”, he said.
