Mangaluru: Maharashtra Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha and Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists’ Association have jointly contributed food and packaged drinking water worth Rs 1 lakh for the flood relief materials storage centre of Dakshina Kannada district administration on Sunday, August 11.
DKDWJA president Srinivas Nayak Indaje handed over the materials to Gokuldas Nayak, joint director of Industries Centre. After receiving the flood relief materials Gokuldas Nayak appreciated the service of both Maharashtra Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha and DKDWJA. “These relief materials will be utilised for the flood victims of Dakshina Kannada district”, he said.
DKDWJA president Srinivas Nayak Indaje assured more such materials on Monday, also claiming that it was the need of the hour to help the flood victims.
District disaster management officer Vijay Kumar, Assistant Commissioner A C Santhosh, smart city managing director Nagaraj, DKDWJA secretary Jithendra Kundeshwar, members R C Bhat, Arif among others were present.
