Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Mayor Bhaskar K inaugurated the free yoga camp at the at the Subramanya Mantapa of the Kudupu Temple on May 25.
SDM College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences and Hospita, and SDM Yoga and Moral Education Project have jointly organised this camp to celebrate the 4th International Day of Yoga.
Practising Yoga every day can improve health, said the mayor and urged the people to utilise this opportunity for adopting Yoga in their lives.
The International Day of Yoga is celebrated every year on June 21, the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. From the perspective of Yoga, the summer solstice marks the transition to Dakshinayana, a time when there is natural support for those pursuing spiritual practices.
Kudupu Temple Trustee Krishnaraj Tantri, Director of Fourwinds E Fernandes, Lizzy Fernandes, Aravind Tantri, Jewel Martis, Greeshma G Raj, Sandra Joseph, Dhanyashri K among others were present.
Yoga camp will be held from May 26 till June 21 at 6 AM. Anyone can participate in the camp, the press release said.
