Inmates injure Policemen in a ruckus at the Mangaluru Jail

Mangaluru: The inmates at the Manglauru district created ruckus in the early hours of May 22.

The scuffle between the undertrials broke out in a cell when the jail superintendent was conducting an inquiry into an incident involving an inmate Jalal. The other inmates of Cell 1 of A-block suddenly put off the lights in the corridors and damaged the CCTV camera.

Jail wardens Muttappa and Ramesh G, and Jail Superintendent Parmesh were injured while they tried to bring the situation under control. They have been admitted to the Wenlock Hospital for treatment.

A case has been registered in this regard at the Barke Police Station.
