Mangaluru: The Akhila Bharat Hindu Mahasabha has welcomed the statement of Kerala’s Syro-Malabar Church, which has said that ‘Love Jihad’ is a reality and that the Christian women are fallen prey to this vicious plan.

Mahasabha state General Secretary Rajesh Pavithran, in a press release, said that when the Hindu organizations kept speaking about ‘Love Jihad’, the police, administration and the state and the central government said that action cannot be taken because there are no pieces of evidence.

With Kerala’s Christian community coming out with statistics as to how many women may have lost their lives to ‘Love Jihad’, the organization has said that at least now the government must wake up from slumber and initiate action.

It may be recalled that Kerala’s Syro-Malabar Church had recently alleged that nearly 12 Christian women have been converted to Islam through ‘love jihad’ in the last three years and taken to Syria where some may have even been killed.

The church issued a statement and expressed concern over the “rising number of love jihad” cases in the state and called it a part of a larger agenda of the Islamic State (IS) to “threaten the religious and social harmony of Kerala”.

The Church had also pointed out that out more than half of the 21 youth that fled Kerala and joined ISIS were Christians who were converted to Islam.

The Church’s claim has been backed by the Akhila Bharat Hindu Mahasabha.
