Mangaluru: Heavy rain was reported from South Karnataka, coastal and Malnad regions on Saturday May 15 early morning.Red alert for next 48 hours has been issued for five districts including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Shivamogga, Hassan and Chikkamagalur.
Yellow alert has been issued to Kodagu, Bengaluru and other districts of the South Karnataka region.
No loss of property or life has been reported from any places.
The rain is expected to continue for the next two to three days.
The pre monsoon rainfall brought smile on the faces of farmers as it will help them to start farming activities for the upcoming monsoon season.
This year normal monsoon rain was predicted for the state by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
