Bengaluru: PWD minister HD Revanna has courted controversy and has also caused embarrassment to the state government by displaying arrogance while interacting with the flood-hit families of Kodagu.
Revanna and AT Ramaswamy had visited a relief centre set up for Kodagu flood-hit families at Arkalgud taluk. It is here that Revanna ended up throwing biscuit packs at the distressed families.
A video of the same has gone viral on social media and the minister has been criticised by many for showing such an arrogant and insensitive attitude.
However, witnessed said that while some picked up the biscuit packs only because they were hungry, many opted not to pick it because they felt insulted.
Revanna, speaking to news18 about the episode has in turn blamed the opposition BJP for blowing up the issue beyond proportion and describing it as an inhuman act.
At the sametime, it must also be mentioned here that Revanna is one of the first few ministers to have reached the flood affected Kodagu and Hassan districts. He had even sent tankers of milk and truck loads of food itmes on Saturday.
