Bantwal/Bengaluru: The High Court on Friday directed the Karnataka Secondary Education and Examination Board (KSEEB) to allow an SSLC student to appear for examination without seeking Aadhaar details.

Justice B V Nagarathna directed the authorities to issue the hall ticket manually to D Adarsha Bhat, a 15-year-old SSLC student from Bantwal taluk in Dakshina Kannada district, if it’s not possible to issue it electronically and also permit him to appear for the exam in April 2018, if he is otherwise eligible.

The court ordered notice to the government and KSEEB based on the petition. According to petitioner, the authorities are indirectly making Aadhaar compulsory in the Student Achievement Tracking System (SATS), wherein entering the Aadhaar number is only optional.
