Mangaluru: The Sri Ram Sene Founder-President Pramod Muthalik, on August 31, demanded the state government to hand-over the administration of Kukke Subramanya Temple to Subramanya Matha headed by Sri Vidyaprasanna Teertha Swamiji.
Addressing a press meet here at Arya Samaj Bhavan, Pramod Muthalik said, “The Kukke Subramanya temple doesn’t belong to the Muzrai Department, instead it belongs to the Subramanya Matha. We have several pieces of evidence to prove that the Kukke Subramanya Temple belongs to Subramanya Matha.”
“Three land survey numbers of the Kukke Subramanya Temple, clearly show that the temple premises belong to the matt. It is also written in the temple bylaw that the ‘Pallaki Utsava’ for the Matha’s deity Narasimha Swamy and Kukke Subramanya Temple deity should be held together. Presently it is not happening,” Muthalik said.
“Moreover, in 1886, a British officer in his book ‘Journey to Coorg Malabar’ has recorded that the Kukke Subramanya Temple belongs to Subramanya Matha,” he added.
He also said that the Commissioner of Muzrai Department had given in writing that there was no document with the government to prove that the Kukke Subramanya Temple belonged to the state government and hence the government should hand over the temple to Matha.
Muthalik slammed “Kukke Subramanya Bhakthara Hitharaksana Vedhike” alleging that it was a fake organisation with vested interests. “The Sri Ram Sene severely condemns the abuse hurled at the Swamiji of the Matha. A case is also registered against this organisation in Subramanya Police Station,” he said.
Muthalik also alleged that there was massive corruption in the temple administration. “After gathering sufficient evidence, the organisation will file a case with the ACB and Lokayukta in this regard,” he added.
‘No ties with Parashuram Waghmore’
Muthalik categorically denied any ties with Parashuram Waghmore, an accused in the Gauri Lankesh murder, and said, “Parashuram Waghmore is not a Sri Rama Sene activist.”
“Parashuram Waghmore had been arrested after police falsely implicated him for hoisting Pakistan Flag in Sindagi. The six people who were booked for allegedly hoisting Pakistan flag were from the RSS. I have provided them a legal support when I came to know that they were falsely implicated in the case. The same was proved in the court of law,” Muthalik said.
On the issue of his photograph with Waghmore circulated widely on the social media, Muthalik said, “Many people take photos with me and he could be one among them. It doesn’t mean that those who take photos with me are Sri Ram Sene activists.”
