Bantwal: The government must understand the difficulties faced by the people and make formulate policies along the lines of Janardhana Poojary’s ‘sala mela’, said Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President DK Shivakumar on Friday, July 31.
Visiting veteran Congress leader B Janardhana Poojary’s residence, Shivakumar said that the Central and state governments have been talking about a multi-crore relief package for the public during the pandemic, but the reality is that not even a single rupee has been given to the people.
Speaking about the veteran leader, DKShi said Poojary is one of the finest leaders of the country and that the ‘sala mela’ scheme brought the banks to the doorsteps of the people. Poojary’s ‘sala mela’ is a grand example of how money should be given to the people during times of crisis.
He added that Poojary led the KPCC and organised the party. “He guided me and I am proud to have worked under him,” he said.
Earlier, DKShi was accorded a grand welcome by Congress leaders and party workers including former minister Ramanath Rai at Bantwal and Panemangaluru. Rai, MLA UT Khader, District Congress Committee president Harish Kumar, District Youth Congress president Mithun Rai and others were present.
