Mangaluru: Close on the heels of arrest of journalist Santhosh Thammaiah, BJP state general secretary C T Ravi has questioned as why the state government has been manifesting double standards while taking action against individuals resorting to provocative speeches.

Addressing the reporters at district BJP office on Wednesday, November 14, C T Ravi said, “if the government directs the police department to arrest Santhosh Thammaiah for his words against Tipu Sultan, why it has not asked police department to arrest Prof Bhagavan, Maheshchandra Guru and Yogesh Master, who have time and again hurt Hindu sentiments“, he said.

Meanwhile, he alleged that state government is misusing Anti Corruption Burea (ACB), Central Crime Branch (CCB) and Crime Investigation Department (CID). “ I am not questioning the arrest of Janardhana Reddy, who was arrested under an alleged bribery case. But, the court itself questioned the CCB on whether there were any complaints against Janardhana Reddy in connection with Ambidant’s ponzi scam. This clearly shows there are conspiracies behind the arrest of Reddy“, he said.

Coming down heavily upon Congress national president Rahul Gandhi and other leaders who claim that union government did nothing after it came to power, Ravi said, “though several leaders like Manmohan Singh, Roshan Baig, Kagodu Thimmappa, Dinesh Gundu Rao among others welcomed the move of demonetisation initially, they opposed it later owing to their political gain. After demonetisation, pending loans to the tune of over Rs 83,000 crore were repaid. The number of the taxpayers doubled in the short span of one year due to the move of demonetisation“, he said.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Puttur MLA Sanjeeva Matandoor, other leaders like Pratapsimha Nayak, Brijesh Chowta, Harikrishna Bantwal, Sanjay Prabhu among others were present.
