Mangaluru: A few hours after Kadri Gopalnath’s passing in a Mangaluru hospital, his younger son has sought the Centre’s help to get a visa to return from Kuwait to attend the funeral.
Gopalnath’s elder son and renowned music director Manikanth Kadri wrote to the Minister of External Affairs requesting that his brother, Guruprasad Kadri be granted a visa in order to be able to attend their father’s last rites today.
Manikanth’s letter has been posted on the Twitter handles of Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister for Communications, Electronics & Information Technology and Law & Justice, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs, and Lavanya Ballal, national social media coordinator Mahila Congress and former Radio anchor.
“Sir requesting help to Padma Shri Kadri Gopalnath’s Son Guruprasad Kadri to travel to Mangalore, who is stuck in Kuwait. His passport has gone for stamping, he needs to travel back as #KadriGopalnath passed away today,” Ballal wrote in her tweet.
Apologies tagging the right minister @DrSJaishankar to help.
